Freemium concept

aCis is shared as revisions: a gathering of multiple fixes, reworks and optimizations. The number in parentheses corresponds to the overall commits number.

The project is delivered freely under specific, chosen revisions. Those revisions are generally stable enough to be enjoyed being tested and played. This version is known as public project.

A second project is continously updated with fixes, optimizations and reworks. This project also holds all internal development branches, aswell as issues. It can be accessed, but only based on your own cooperation to improve aCis. It is known as the private project.

From time to time, master branch is pushed into public project, and a new private cycle begins. Shortly said, any private revision becomes someday public. The periodicity strongly depends about project stability, current main rework, etc.

We greatly emphasize contribution over money ; all your reports and shares (bugfixes) are counted as a contribution when your work is committed, and is based on the complexity of the report/bugfix. The contribution system is visible on the forums — a specific field named “Cookies” was added.

Cookies can be used instead of money, spent on a 1:1 ratio over either the initial Supporter subscription or the monthly fee.

Bounties and bounty hunters

Sometimes, a bounty can be posted into the #bounties Discord channel. It is a paid task, achievable by anyone and focusing on a specific issue.

Any game feature or bug can be considered a task; priority is given to bugs generating instability. Tasks are defined by either me or Supporters.

The fee is paid only if the requested code is committed and is the final part of the files. A variable part of the fee can be cut depending on how buggy the proposed code is. If the code is too buggy, it will be rejected. That fee can be translated to:

If multiple concurrent people deliver code for the same task, the less buggy and most “aCis-friendly” version (documented code, using aCis standards, etc.) will be chosen. Only the chosen code’s author is rewarded. If several propose identical solutions in terms of “code coolness” and features, the first posted version gets priority.
